Kanchanaburi (Thai กาญจนบุรี) is the largest of the central provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Tak, Uthai Thani, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Pathom and Ratchaburi. In the west it borders Myanmar. Boundary North - Connects with Myanmar. South - Connects with Ratcha Buri and Nakhon Pathom Provinces. East - Connects with Suphan Buri Province. The province is located in the west of Thailand. The district covers the source valleys of the rivers Kwae Yai and Kwae Noi ("River Kwai"), which merge at the city Kanchanaburi and form the Mae Klong River there.West - Connects with Myanmar. Several National Parks are located in the forests of the mountain area of the province - the Erawan, Sai Yok, Khao Laem, Khaoen Sri Nakarin and Chaloem Rattanakosin National Parks are located in the province. The Thungyai Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary in this province is also listed in the UNESCO world heritage list. Kanchanaburi Province is divided into 10 Amphoes and 2 king Amphoes (sub-districts). Benachbarte Provinzen sind (von Norden im Uhrzeigersinn) Tak, Uthai Thani, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Pathom und Ratchaburi. Im Westen grenzt es Myanmar. Grenze Nord - Verbindet mit Myanmar. Süd - Verbindet mit Ratcha Buri und Nakhon Pathom Provinzen. Osten - Verbindet mit Suphan Buri Provinz. West - Verbindet mit Myanmar. Die Provinz liegt im Westen von Thailand. Der Bezirk umfasst die Quelle Tälern der Flüsse Kwai Yai und Kwae Noi ("River Kwai"), die bei der Stadt Kanchanaburi fusionieren und bilden die Mae Klong Fluss gibt. Mehrere Nationalparks sind in den Wäldern der Bergregion der Provinz gelegen - das Erawan, Sai Yok, Khao Laem, Khaoen Sri Nakarin und Chaloem Rattanakosin Nationalparks in der Provinz. Die Thung Naresuan Wildlife Sanctuary in dieser Provinz ist auch in der UNESCO-Welterbe-Liste aufgeführt. |
